Congratulations on launching your website! Curious what your customers will be looking for when landing on your page? We’ve highlighted 10 important things you should include on your site to entice visitors to stick around and explore what you have to offer.

Ensure You Have a Website

First things first, having a website in the first place is a crucial move. If you want to remain competitive against other businesses in your industry and expand the likelihood of new customers discovering you, get a website. Social media may seem like an enticing route (it’s easy to set up and completely free!), but it’s not enough to compete with businesses with a stronger online presence. Customers want to be as informed as possible before making a purchase. They also want to know more about you as a company. What better way to help visitors get to know you than a website?

Keep the Design Cohesive

A website that is attractive can grab a visitor’s attention and encourage them to explore your website’s pages. Visitors are not only expecting a professional, well-designed website but one that behaves the way it should. The way elements are arranged on a page and the flow of information on those pages is crucial to providing a positive experience for your visitors. Whether they know it or not, customers are more likely to spend more time on a website that looks pleasing and is not complicated to sift through.

Make Your Site Mobile-Responsive

The majority of users on the web are viewing websites from, you guessed it, their mobile devices! One of the biggest takeaways from this article is that your site needs to look good and function properly on mobile devices of varying display sizes. You don’t have to sacrifice good looks on mobile. Elements on your page may be arranged differently or collapsed to make sections more compact, but the information can remain the same.

Answer “Who Are You?” Questions

Don’t make your customers work hard to find your business’s basic contact information. Include your email address, phone number, and other vital information on the footer of your website. By housing contact information in one central location, it will make it easier for customers to contact you and address any questions or concerns they may have. Also be sure to give your audience some backstory about your company! Include some information about your brand in an “About Us” page to help visitors get to know you.

Be Consistent

Remain consistent with the colors, fonts, and elements found on your website. By keeping your branding consistent across your website (and other online platforms), you will demonstrate a professional and put-together appearance. Messaging is also important on your website. Keep your brand’s voice similar to what’s found on your social media. The overall personality and look of your brand should always remain the same to avoid confusion.

Make Your Calls to Action Clear

What is the goal of your website? Are you trying to increase interest in your products and services, increase sales, or promote brand awareness? As it’s likely all of the above, you need to guide visitors on your site to take specific actions. Be sure to include eye-catching call-to action (CTA) buttons. They will guide customers to take actions like purchase a product, sign up for a newsletter, or learn more about your products and services.

Social Icons Should be Easy to Find
Keep your social icons in an easy-to-find place, like the footer of your website or your contact page. Allow customers, new and existing, to learn more about your business and stay up-to-date on your latest product launches, news, events, and more. Be sure to only add the social pages you keep up with regularly.

Keep Load Speeds Quick
Keep in mind the file sizes of pictures, icons, and other elements on your website. If the file size is too big, you’ll notice a lag when elements are trying to load on your screen. The load speed will all depend on the internet connection of your visitor but in general, you should keep the file sizes small but still clear enough to see.

Include Customer Testimonials

Most consumers will be looking for reviews or customer testimonials on your website. Potential customers need to feel like they can trust you and testimonial pages can help effectively build confidence within your customers. Ask your clients for permission before including their name on your website.

Maintain a Secure Website

Having a website that not only looks legit and secure, but is secure, is important for creating a trustworthy and credible environment to your customers. For both your business and the customer, ensuring private information is secure should be a top priority.

Keep these 10 important factors in mind before you launch your website! It’s crucial to keep the customer’s point of view in mind. With an attractive, concise, and secure website, you’ll be sure to convert visitors into customers in no time!
